while I understand the people/critics who say, “Too soon,” Obama’s receipt of the award also reminded me of something else: how utterly remarkable it is that this man was ever even ELECTED president of the USA. he is not a top aide, a member of the cabinet, a senator or diplomat. he is the head of the USA and, consequently, at least for a few more years, leader of the ‘free world.’ that he has accomplished that by organizing a complex demographic and political web, while simultaneously broaching a new approach to international relations, is singularly worthy of commendation. no doubt the Nobel committee (the peace prize is awarding differently than all other Nobels- its much more politically charged) intended to show their support AND claim some of Obama’s star power, but i do not have issues with that agenda. people who are complaining should instead lead in their own right, don’t just try to bring the man down.

…maybe you can share an excerpt from your just-published Obama text…

Thank you for the comment Dk. I will certainly post a excerpt of the book chapter soon.
